Yann Hilpert | Principal

Yann is a Principal in the Banking & Finance practice of OPF Partners. He mainly advises private equity houses and international financial institutions in the areas of banking and finance.

Yann has particular expertise with leveraged finance, securitisations, aircraft finance, shipping finance, and Islamic finance, as well as with financial sector regulatory matters. He has also a broad experience of secured lending transactions and of corporate transactions such as mergers & acquisitions.

Yann has been a lecturer at the faculty of law of the University of Nancy II since 2006 where he lectures Luxembourg corporate and finance law in the post-graduate diploma (Master 2) “International Business Lawyer” (Juriste d’Affaires International). Yann is also speaker at domestic and international conferences like, amongst others, the annual “Journée Ripert” organised in Paris since 1992 by the “Association Française du Droit Maritime” (the French maritime law association).

Yann graduated from the University of Nancy II (France) with a master degree in private law and a post-graduate diploma (D.E.A.). He also obtained a post-graduate diploma (D.E.S.S.) in business law from the University of Strasbourg III (France), as well as a certificate in Islamic finance and a diploma in Islamic finance both delivered and accredited by the ICMA Centre, University of Reading (United Kingdom).

A French national, Yann was admitted to the Luxembourg bar in 2002 and speaks English and French. He is based in the Luxembourg office of OPF Partners.
