Tax News: Bill for the abolition of Luxembourg capital duty
Further to the recent rate reduction of Luxembourg capital duty from 1% to 0.5% on January 1, 2008 and in accordance with the Luxembourg Prime Minister’s announcement in his statement on Luxembourg’s economic, social and financial situation dated March 22, 2008, the Luxembourg government confirms its intention to abolish capital duty as from January 1, 2009 in a recent bill (still subject to the legislative process) which further details the modalities of such abolishment.
